Malinda discovered her love and passion for dance at the age of 4 at Cynthia Merrill School of Performing Arts. Since then, she has studied various styles of dance through a variety of dance masters around Fresno. Malinda attended Bullard Talent, where she became interested in teaching and choreographing. After graduating from Roosevelt School of the Arts, she continued her dance education at CSU San Jose, where she received her B.A. in Dance. Se has studied a variety of styles, including modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet, Latin dance, and capoeria. During her time at San Jose State, Malinda performed with Mantaceros, a prominent salsa team in the bay area. After her graduation, she relocated to Fresno and began teaching, performing and choreographing for Good Company Players. Malinda is a tap, jazz, and hip-hop teacher for California Arts Academy.
Daniel Chavez Jr.
Daniel Chavez Jr. has been with California Arts Academy for many years. He received his B.A. Degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance from California State University, Chico. After obtaining his degree, Daniel moved to NYC to explore, grow, and refine, as well as sing, dance, and act. He was fortunate enough to come in contact with Music Theatre International where he helped develop a music theatre program for elementary and middle schools, which is used all over the world called The Broadway Junior Collection. After this development, Daniel toured Italy in West Side Story playing Bernardo and the US in Kiss Me, Kate playing Gremio. Daniel has had many wonderful experiences and is excited and happy to share them with his students.
